Desert Highlands
The plan occurs on eight levels, all in response to natural grade. The Master Bath includes his and her spaces, and a shared exercise room.
An open living/dining and kitchen area are all connected by a three-level terrace, with water features and a negative edge pool.
There is a sit-down bar, media room and Home Theater. Audio/visual equipment is accessible for servicing from the rear by way of sliding panels in the adjacent utility room.
The design of the house resulted from linking the
desired flow between the three specialty areas, as
well as from the influence of the sloping site
including the desire to capture natural breezes and
surrounding vistas. The result is a simple geometry
in plan but one which transitions across the eight
levels of space. A band of south facing clerestory
windows runs the full length of the house.
