The Citadel
Scottsdale, AZ
41,000 s.f.
Located in the high desert, far from any downtown,
this 41,000 square foot mixed-use complex is a fresh
statement of southwestern regional architecture. The
molded forms reflect their mountain backdrop. The
Citadel is its own magnetic attraction. The
four-acre site includes a national bank, a major
restaurant, and a combination of retail shops,
offices and an eleven-suite inn. The individual
spaces include fireplaces, terraces and walk-out
balconies. It received the “Excellence in
Architecture” Award from the Arizona Society of the
American Institute of Architects.
