Hangar One
Scottsdale, AZ
137,000 s.f.
Swabacks imaginative design creates a streamlined architectural
composition and adds humorous touches (a 108 foot titanium “paper” airline perched atop the structure) unite so powerfully in a facility that pampers the private jet.
The 129,000 s.f. facility can accommodate up to fifteen aircraft in its two 30,000-sq.ft. hangars. A 108-ft. long, 15,000-lb aluminum “paper” airplane adorns the roof. An approximately 68,500-sq.ft. multi-purpose facility adjoins the hangars and includes below-grade parking, premium office space and entertainment space. It also features an exclusive and unique auto showroom. Tilt panels, gang panels and loose-formed panels were used to construct the concrete walls, yet the entire structure has the appearance of loose-formed concrete.
